The projects featured in the booklet Pushing the frontiers of knowledge for the advancement of humanity are a small sample of the powerful ways that Canadian universities collaborating with other higher education institutions, non-governmental organizations, governments and the private sector are changing lives for the better.

These partnerships advance knowledge and practice in many fields — renewable energy, forestry and wood processing, mining, aquaculture and fisheries, maternal and child health, social work, basic education, and community economic development — all for the benefit of those in greatest need.
